The World’s Biggest Piña Colada!

Posted in Blog

We have a confirmation that a team of all-star UK and International bartenders will indeed be aiming to set the record for the world’s largest Piña Colada at this year’s RumFest.

Such renowned names as Jake Burger, Papa Jules, Tony Conigliaro, Eric Lorincz and Roman Milostivy (amongst others) will be looking to set the bar as high as they can.  Such a record attempt has not been undertaken before – but the aim will be to scare off future attempts.

Rum, Tiki and Good Times…

RumFest is not just a chance to try different rums, but also to increase your education on the subject.  Once you start digging into rum, there seems to be one connection that’s very difficult to avoid: Tiki!  If only because it’s usually wearing a very loud Hawaiian shirt!

TheFloatingRumShack.com enjoyed Jeff ‘Beachbum’ Berry’s Tiki talk last year which discussed the history of the Mai-Tai (a very important subject to those in the ‘know’) and so we were really chuffed to hear that the ‘Bum will be back again this year.

We asked Jeff what his ‘Potions of the Caribbean’ talk was all about.

Rumours and half truths…

We’ve heard that there’s going to be a world record attempt at RumFest 2010 this year.  Something about the world’s biggest Pina Colada!  We’re not sure if we should bring our own mega-long straw or a pair of swimming trunks for that one!

RumFest for beginners

So, is this going to be your first time? At RumFest that is…

Can I offer a little advice to the first timer?

Don’t worry: TheFloatingRumShack.com wouldn’t presume to tell you how to have fun. You wouldn’t need to be told anyway – if you like rum, then you already know how to have a good time.

Perhaps we’ll share a thought or two that will help you to enjoy the day a little more fully and not leave you in a dribbling heap, all partied out and fit for nothing!

What does RumFest mean to you?

I’m always telling people what I’m looking forward to, but RumFest has generated thousands of happy visitors over the years and everyone’s experience was different.  I mean we can’t all be going for exactly the same reasons can we?

I know what I'm looking forward to, but I know for sure that there is such a wide variety of entertainment going on over the two days that there really is something for everyone.
